Windows 2000 Pro

When I installed Win 2000 Pro last week, I forgot to disconnect my
portable drive hub therefore my hard drive designation was changed from
"C" to "J", now I cannot install my new scanner, as it keeps looking
for the drive "C". What can I do short of reformatting my drive to get
this drive named "C" again? If I do a clean install from the Windows
CD will it rename my drive to its original "C" designation again?

this is not the correct newsgroup for this question. this newsgroup is
for csharp.net programming related questions. Don't crosspost

Erm, I don't quite see how this pertains to a C# newsgroup...but the
answer is that you probably cannot change it through the Windows
settings, as I believe Windows only lets you remap letters for
non-system/non-bootable volumes; there may be other ways of doing it
that I don't know. Try posting somewhere like microsoft.public.win2000
for a better response; you're way off-topic here
