Multicast Groups

Say I'm bound to a localIP on port 554 and connected to to a multicast
group "224.1.2.3". My question is if I send a packet to data address am
I able to receive it?
socket.Send(packet)
socket.Receive(buffer)
....it deadlocks on receive. Why?
