can anyone provide an example of how to update/insert with
microsoft.xml.xquery?

I'm not sure, but my impression that XQuery is to implement XQuery for
XML. From what I understand, XQuery is read-only, meant for querying data,
not for actually inserting or updating (like XPath).

I dont't know about the library ou are referring to. But I do know it
can be done with SQL Server 2005 with what they call XML DML (an XQuery
