which tool this being used for report construction in windows forms?

Well, Crystal Reports is distributed with VS.NET, I believe (at least it
used to be). However, it really does suck, IMO. I've had countless
problems with Crystal, and if given the chance, will move to another
reporting project in the next green-field app that I do.

There are other reporting packages out there. I believe Active Reports,
as well as Component One offer reporting packages.

Microsoft SQL Reporting Services also includes a component you can use on a
WinForm, although I haven't actually used it myself.
