C#/VS 2005 availability in Europe

Hi all,

Can somebody explain to me why VS 2005 has been available in the US for
a few weeks now, but seems to be nowhere available in Europe yet (based
on amazon.co.uk / amazon.de listings) ?

Is it to give the US developers a jump-start on us Olde Worlde
code-serfs out here in the sticks? Or do export restrictions apply?
Either way, it's a b*mmer for those of us waiting to get our hands on
the goodies...

I don't know about physical box copies, but MSDN subscribers are able
to download and burn images within Europe. I suspect that physical box
copies provide relatively small sales compared with MSDN subscriptions.

Duuhhh, yep! that would explain some of it i guess. But you'd think
amazon.eu would at least offer the thing, right?

Looks like I'm going to have to convince my IT superiors to shell out
for a download which is something they're not too keen on...

As we have MSDN subscription I simply downloaded it from a p2p-network. MSDN
download is just too slow =)

Did the same with a new Delphi 7. I bought it via snailmail, but as the key
was printed on the receipt, I downloaded it and didn't even bother waiting
for the CDs. They are stored as backups. Don't think I even opened the
package.
