I hope this doesn't end up a duplicate post - if so, I apologize! Email was
being flakey.
Have a situation where I need to walk the users container and check for
accounts (not passwords) that are about to expire. I have been mostly
succesful - using DirectorySearcher and the LargeInteger to convert the
accountexpires property. What I was wondering was:
1. Is there a better method of doing this? By better, I mean is there a
method that would put less load on the server (is there much f a load from a
large query of this type - consider about 20k users) and is faster?
2. I have an issue with only the first 1000 users being returned. I am sure
this is do to the settings on AD for returns - will the maxpagesize allow me
to manage that?
3. Will utilizing the properties to load (and limiting it to account expires
and name) reduce the load on the server?
4. Is there a way to limit the query so that only account that have the
account expire flag set are returned (I checked the accountoptions but
didn't see anything that would work). Another issue along these same lines
is there a way to limit to just user accounts - I have some computer
accounts showing up in the returned set.
Thanks in advance for any help on any of the above questions.
