Maintaining page index

I have an asp.net page (c#) with datagrid bound to a data set. I have
placed a number hyperlinks in the datagrid for Viewing the details of
records, Editing (in a seprate page), etc. What would be best way to
maintain my datagrid's current page when I return from the Details or
Editing page? I prefer not to use the session object, as the user may
be using multiple instances of same page in different browser windows.

One way have thought of is to use an additional parameter (beside the
record id) in NavigateURL holding the CurrentPageIndex. Is there any
better suggestion?

Thanks in advance.

You can use one of the following way, store the CurrentPageIndex
1. Using ViewState
2. Using hidden text box control.
3. Using static variable.
