Adding Thumbnail images to THUMBS.DB?

I've got a custom image file type whose contents I would like to have
displayed when the user selects View|Thumbnails. I know I need to somehow
add these files' images to the folder's THUMBS.DB, and I've looked
everywhere for API calls that I can make to allow this. However, all I've
found is related to extracting images from THUMBS.DB.

If someone could point me in the general direction of where to look, I would
be greatly appreciative.

I haven't actually tried doing it, but I was looking at something
