Crystal Report not showing up after setting params.

I have built a report using Crystal Report 8.0, which is set to get its
data from a MS SQL Stored Procedure with 1 Parameter(smalldatetime). I
can get the report to display in crystal with data, and can execute the
sp in a query and get returned data. However, I can not get the report
to load into the Crystal Report Viewer on the asp.net form.

I am using a modal dialog window(asp.net webform) to pop up and ask
them the parameter for the report, then raising an event passing it
back to the parent form. It then sets all login info, adds the
parameter to the report document, and sets the viewer source but only
the viewer control shows up, no report or data.

Example code using a static value:
ParameterValues pvs = new ParameterValues();
ParameterDiscreteValue pdv = new ParameterDiscreteValue();
pdv.Value = "5/5/2004";
pvs.Add(pdv);
rpt1.DataDefinition.ParameterFields["@BeforeDOS"].ApplyCurrentValues(pvs);

// Sets some table login info on all datatables in the report
//
crv1.ReportSource = rpt1;
