Data Binding with stored procedures through a data layer

I just had a C# conversion project thrown at me, and must bind several text
boxes on a form to different columns from a table. We have to use stored
procedures that are called through data layer (csData) from the form
(frmPackingList). I know it can be done with a datagrid, but simple binding
rules do not cover what I'm trying to do. I know I have to do a record
count, but beyond that I have to bind each text box separately. This is
where I encounter the problems.
Example:
On form load procedure I am trying to bind txtItem to the "ITEMS" column
created when I call the getPackingList method stored in csData. This method
uses a stored procedure to access the "ITEMS" information I need based on a
selection the user makes(sent as a parameter to the method, of course). My
code is:

csData.getPackingList(csShared.strMLNumber).dtTabl e("ITEMS").DataBindings.Add("Text", txtItem, "Text");

but I get the response:

System.Data.DataTable does not contain a definition for 'dtTable'.

I don't understand because I created a new table in the method called
'dtTable'.
How do I access the information created with the stored procedure?
Can I do it without creating an entirely different dataset?
