Use DateTime.ParseExact, passing it the format of the date within the string.

Tom seemed to only give you half of it.

string d = "11022005";
string formatted = DateTime.ParseExact(d,
"ddMMyyyy").ToString("MM/dd/yyyy");

Or if you prefer, the string-only solution:
string d = "11022005";
string formatted = d.Substring(2,2) + '/' + d.Substring(0,2) + '/' +
d.Substring(4,4);
