Image acquitision using WIA 2.0

Hello,

I've download WIA 2.0 from MS website trying to add support for aquiring
an image for my app (either using webcam, digital camera or scanner).
However, I am having trouble making devices perform to my liking. For
instance, I can make any device take a photo, but it takes a photo using
its default dimentions (usually something really small like 160x120).

Is there a really good resource for WIA. For instance, i'd like to know
how to specify my own resolution (or at least finding out from device
whether it supports it).
