delegate and event

Hi,
I'm learning C#. I'm confusing about event and delegate.

delegate void mydelegate();
event mydelegate d1;
mydelegate d2;

What are the differences between d1 and d2 variable ? Whate are the
differences between event and delegate ?

Thank a lot.

event provides limited access to the underlying delegate. See
