Icon in EXE

I want to add an icon to my project's exe file, so that when i create shortcuts
to it, they use that icon. I've added the icon to my project and marked
it as an embedded resource. I've changed my form's icon property to use
the icon, but i think i need to do more.

I've added a deployment project to create an msi file, and when i try to
get the icon from the exe file for my shortcuts, the default blue box icon
shows up and not my added icon.

What do i need to do to get my icon to show up?

Change the default icon for you project folder - App.ico
Simply overwrite it with the icon of your choice, make sure you keep the
name App.ico.
