RichTextbox and EditCallBack in C#

I'm porting a Win32 program and in it, I load some data
into a RichEdit control. In the EditCallBack, I track
the number of bytes that are currently being loaded, and
then report back the number of bytes currently being read
to a status bar for the user. However, I'm looking at
the RichTextBox implementation, and I can't find the
callback function, so I'm wondering if anyone has any
ideas. Lastly, this has to be a pure .NET solution -- no
API usage. I'd like the program to eventually be usable
with the MONO framework implementation.

Any ideas would be great.
