Enterprise Services

Could someone please summarize in 3 sentences or so what exactly Enterprise
Serivces from Microsoft comprised of PRIOR to .NET's existance? Comparing
it to what it is comprised of after .NET was released would be useful as
well. Thanks in advance for the clarification...

Hi...

Enterprise Services is the SAME before and after .NET. .NET classes can
simply take advantage of this infrastructure via the ServicedComponent
class. The EnterpriseServices include things like synchronization,
transactions, role-based security and messaging.

Look up Microsoft Transaction Server or MTS and Microsoft Message Queue
Server or MSMQ. At least for me, those are the most common Enterprise
Services, since those are the two I have used.
