Raising "menu" event programmatically

Hi,
I have a menu that generates "Click" events and handlers
for the events. Now I need to raise one of these events
programmatically. Calling the handler directly is not the
same because it interrupts the execution of the current
function (which of cause is another handler), and I want
it to complete before processing new event.
Is there a simple way to do it? Something similar to old
PostMessage()?
