Inputing Information

I'm writing a program that has text boxes where I will be typing information into them and then I have to see if a match is found from a file. How do I check what was typed in to what is in the file?

Maybe you could put a button, and when you click that button open the file
read a file using StreamReader, and search into this the text that you put in
the textboxes,

or you can set the textboxes autopostback property to true, and when a
person enters anything in thoses and change the focus you can use
StreamReader, and search into this the text that you put in the textboxes.

I dont know if this helps, but could you specify a little more?
Regards.
