Resetting AutoIncrementSeed in a dataset doesn't seem to work

I'm trying to clear out my dataset and start fresh if the user hits
"New". However the ID columns of my dataset are not being reset to 1.
Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong? Here's the code:

Globals.myDataSet.Clear();
Globals.myDataSet.Category.CategoryIDColumn.AutoIn crementSeed = 1;
Globals.myDataSet.AcceptChanges();
What it does do is clear out all of the data, which is good. However
when I enter in a new item, it's ID is 1 more than the last one before I
cleared it - IE: setting autoincrementseed doesn't seem to do what I
want it to do.

Thanks!
