Error when opening a downloaded C# project

I am currently enrolled in a C# class and we have to download project to
modify.
After downloading to my hard drive, when I try to open the project it
warns me that I might not be able to output things correctly as the
project resides on a shared or network directory.
Is this because I have a wireless connection set up at home?
Or is this related to some settings on my computer?

Copy the project to your local drive first. Source on network drives tends
to cause problems.
