An IDE in every application

Jeff,

That's actually quite clever.

In terms of a SOA or component architecture, each application would be
it's own, specific, IDE...and so it would contain the necessary code
within itself to be edited, and recompiled.

This would be a great use for Reflection.Emit

It would be the very next step in providing services that are truly
state independent of each other ( that is, each app becomes independent
of VS.NET, as far as morphing ).

He's a troll. There's nothing to understand except the reason you
shouldn't crosspost to unrelated newsgroups, MVP.

No, I was thinking of having X.CPP ( my hand-rolled e-mail_client/newsreader )
replace the code editor aspects of Visual studio that it currently replies on,
not the MS C++ compiler/debugger/WinXP_SDK aspects.

I have too much respect for standards,
e.g. the WinXP SDK, to ever attempt to replace them.
