Converting Excel workbook to and from string

Hi!

I need to convert a stream containing an Excel workbook to an Excel
..csv file but I am not really getting it to work. Just saving the
stream as abc.xls is no good so I guess I need to create a workbook
and load it with the stream, but here ends my knowledge about this...

Just opening the workbook as a file and convert it is no problem, the
thing is that it in fact comes as a stream.

Does someone know how to do this?

Axel,

If it comes in as a stream, you should be able to just save it to disk
and then just open it (programatically, or otherwise). If you can't it
indicates that your stream isn't being delivered to you in the right way, or
you are saving it incorrectly.

Once you do that, you can open excel through automation and then save
the workbook as a CSV file.

Hope this helps.
