WANTED! Looking for a great COM article from the 90s

Can anyone help me find a specific article where the transition from
C++ to COM was described in a great way. I remember that the
example/tutorial explaining everything was a light-"database"
implementation. The author took us from the C++ reuse model via linked
libraries to COM with brilliant examples illustrated in the
database-tutorial.
