Visual Studio 2003 internet connection

I'm running XP Pro w/Service Pack2 and have an always on internet connection
thru the network.
I've installed VS.Net 2003 off the MSDN 4/2004 dvd.
From the Start Page, I go to Online Resources and select Online Resources.
Instead of opening the newsgroups, it gives the message:
"This feature requires that you have connected to the internet previously or
are currently online."

Since I have no problem connecting to the internet and am always online, not
sure what is causing this problem. Any suggestions?
Thanks,--
Rick
