Creating an ambience like windows media player???

Hi,

I was wondering how you create a program that mirrors the ambience on
"Windows media player" the swirling and mixing colours?

DirectX and OpenGL. That's how.

And both of those are a b***tch to program in (well in relative terms), so
Microsoft is creating avalon that will do most of what DirectX does - but in
a much easier way (sort of like you won't have to do assembly anymore
because you'd have C) .. well that's atleast as far as I know, but this
picture might be over simplified :-)
