I like Wrox press books. Thier book, Professionl C#, is aimed at novice to
expert level but it does not have much for visual design. It does try to
cover to much topics so some topics are not covered well enough, but the
basic core of C# is covered, just not some topics such as XML or GDI+, etc.
But this is the book I would recommened
