SqlDataAdapter and Application Blocks

I have been using (almost exclusively) Microsoft's Data Application
block. The only thing I cannot figure out is how to use ColumnMappings,
since they are part of the SqlDataAdapter (which seems to have no place
when using Application blocks). Am I missing something? Can I access the
TableMappings collection when using application blocks?
