Tabstrip tabs

I have a tabStrip control in my web form.
I am struggling to get the index of the selected the selected tab.

I have tried the ffg on the code behind:

private void TabStrip1_SelectedIndexChange(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
{
textbox1.Text = TabStrip1.selectedIndex;
}

I looks like it does not even get to this piece of code.
