How to talk to MS Exchange server directly?

My boss wants me to find out a way to talk to MS Exchange server directly, so
we can develop a .NET application that allows user create or retrieve
calendar items in MS Exchange server. I looked at MSDN site, only find
samples that use MS outlook to deal with MS Exchange server.

Thanks in Advance

David,

The best way would probably be to use the CDO library, creating a
Runtime Callable Wrapper for it and calling it from .NET. You can just add
a reference by looking under the COM tab when you choose to add a reference.
Look for Collaboration Data Objects (or something to that effect).

Hope this helps.
