How to determine the displayable width of a treeview item ?

Hi,

I have a treeview on a form, with several nodes, on several level.
Every node has a text associated to it. That text can be quite
long, and sometimes, is longer than the width of the treeview. As a
consequence, an horizontal scrollbar is displayed :-/
What I want is to have *all* text displayed at once.

I thought about 2 solutions :

* multiline treeview item, is that possible ?

* A property, method, or something, that gives, from treeview width,
font size and node level, the number of characters that actually can
be displayed on each line. From that, I could split my text into
several strings and add as many nodes as required to see all text at
once. But that solution isn't 100% clean or reliale...

How would you do that ? Thanks!

Fred
