Uploading to an area outside of the web server.

Is it possible to upload files to a folder outside of the web server? I
realize that the IUSR account needs access to the area but since the IUSR is
not a domain user how can you give access if you want the file uploaded to an
area other than the web server? Is it that you can't?

thanks you,
- Marilyn

If you are running domain security then you will have to
make the account a network account (if you really have to
have access) and then be sure to give it VERY limited
access, but you are opening Pandora's Box when you do
that on the internet.

You can also have process run, that logs you into
a "special account" set up seperately to handle access to
domain resources.

Either way is not real good and chances are your network
guys will want to provide you with a straight-jacket and
extended DR appointments for suggesting it unless you are
quick to loudly profess "momentairy instanity".

On the other hand, if it's just on your local or possibly
wide net, then you'll probably have a chance for
reasonable accomodations.
