Search in list view

Hi guys,
I would like to have a search function that able to locate specific item in
the list view but i don't know which api or methods to do so. The search
function similar to the F5 search in excel spreedsheet when you enter the
string or key word, it will locate to the specific row and continue search
until no keyword match.
Thank you so much.

Your information is helpful but it didn't fullfill my need,by using that
control i can be able to get the index of the item however i couldn't get the
index of the subitem. Is there any way to do so, if yes please show me how to
do that.
For example a list contain
Name Age Sex
popo

Thank you
