Versioning and removing a class

lbs
Hi,
We are using binary serialization and have managed to figure out how to move
items around and how to rename them, but we're stuck on how to remove a
class. During deserialization, if the class to be removed is no longer in
the project, it throws a SerializationException, so it seems we have to keep
the class in the project forever! The SurrogateSelector looked promising,
but it also requires a System.Type.

Suggestions and pointers would be greatly appreciated!
