opening a file

Hi,

I'm opening a MS Word file through c#

// Open the specified document
DirectoryInfo di = new DirectoryInfo(Environment.CurrentDirectory);
FileInfo[] fi = di.GetFiles("myTest.doc");

if (fi.Length <= 0)
{
di = new DirectoryInfo(Environment.CurrentDirectory+@"\..\. .");
fi = di.GetFiles("myTest.doc");
}

object fileName = fi[0].FullName;

i found this code online somewhere.... but can someone explain to me what's
going on here?!?!

Also... how do i check if the specified file does NOT exist.... ie. if
myTest.doc is not a valid filename?

Please help! :)
