Navigation Pane question

I'm looking to place an icon for my app on the Navigation Pane (lower right
of task bar), yet haven't been able to find any information on how to do
this. The app basically is a running file watcher that fires off a routine
when a file appears in a specific folder. I want the icon on the Navigation
Pane to show the user it is running but don't want the program to be
minimized with an icon on the task bar (similar to SQL Server icon in
navigation bar, or clock, or whatever). I know it's possible as other
programs use this feature. Can someone point me to the correct information
source to do this?

Thanx,

Allen

There is a good article on Developer.com that should get you started:
