Associate an attribute with a type other than class definition

Tom
Is there a way to associate an attribute with a type aside from
placing it on the class definition. Here is what I mean

I make a new UITypeEditor for Drawing.Color. Now in my project I alway
want my editor used instead of the defualt one. If it was my class I
could just tack it on as an attribute. But because it isn't I have to
put it on every property on the entire project.

Is there any way to do this?
