Creating a thumbnail

I have thought about creating a thumbnail from my full image but its too
slow. What is the best algorithm to use for creating a thumbnail
directly from data by yourself. What algorithm do microsoft use to
create the thumbnail image......

Use Image.GetThumbnailImage method.
