Change Label at LabelEdit

I want to edit a TreeNode with LabelEdit. But i have to remove some
informations before editing the Label.

I have Nodes which have an counter included

Computer (20)

Now when a user start LabelEdit by double Click i want to remove

because the user shouldn't have to edit this ...

I tried to catch the BeforeLabelEdit Event with

e.Node.Text = Regex.Replace(e.Node.Text, @"\(\d+\)$", "");

but the user allways get

Computer (20)

to edit, instead only

Maybe someone has a idea how to solve this Problem

Thank you
