Launch Internet Explorer

I'm trying to automate a login process to a database that is located over the web.

I have the code to open Internet Explorer and navigate to the website. Once the website is loaded however, there are two text boxes where the user needs to enter a user name and password. I want to add code that automatically fills in these boxes. After this (login) I also want to simulate the user clicking on different links to select and download a particular file.

Can someone point me in the right direction for coding something like this?

Thanks,
-j-
