Where did everyone go?

I haven't seen a new posting since Wednesday night...

This happens occasionally with this group - I get nothing for days at
a time.

I access via Internet Explorer and I've cleared cookies and temp files
- still nothing (except a posting I've made Thursday).

Any ideas? (of course, I probably won't get your answer until I can
see postings again...)

I don't see a big advantage to that (except to get around this crazy
quirk of this particular set of newsgroups...)

Anyway, why does this happen?

It has to do with the frequency with which your ISP cares to refresh the
copy of articles on their news server.

For example, earthlink, seems to update almost instantly.

Other ISPs may not think the group that important, and so do a weekly or
bi-weekly refresh to their newserver.

The best thing for you to do is to tell your ISP ( or news server host )
that you really, really need this newsgroup refreshed more often and maybe
they'll do it for you ....

....or just connect directly to news.microsoft.com
