Compression

I have a zip file that is downloaded onto the users HDD via http. Is there a way I could extract the files in the zip to a directory without the user knowing? If not, could it be done using a cab file? Note: I know this is possible using the command line add-in for WinZip, but that requires the user to have WinZip installed.
