Do you mean you need to communicate with your service from the C++ application? If the C++ app C++.Net, then my suggestion would be to have your service host a remoted component, which can perform the functions you need to perform. The C++ app would then just consume the remoted services. You cannot use a service as you would a DLL. Windows services do have the OnCustomEvent event, but this only takes in 1 int param, which means you are limited to how much you can do with it. I think you send custom commands using a ServiceController.ExecuteCommand
