What is best way to connect server in hosted user control in IE?

IE 6.

I made one User Control form to host in Internet Explorer
class MyUserControl : UserControl
...
void ConnectToServer()

Here is my question
First of all, there is no security problem, because I granted everything for thi
control
I called the ConnectToServer method to connect by using TCP socket
If the socket is synchronous mode, the control doesn't respond, and it hangs..
If the socket is asynchronous mode, the contorl respond and work, however, it take
so long to establish connection with server... Most clients do not want to wait for
their application.
It seems like to me I need to use asynchronous mode socket because it works at least, eve
though connection time takes so long time(I think more than 2 or 3 minutes...

Here is my two questions

1. Is there any way to establish connection immediately with asynchronous mode socket
2. Is there any way that I can use synchronous mode socket without hanging IE

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
