Needed some sort of advice on pattern / solutions

What I do is looking for holes in my solution to problem which is:
1. taking something from database by this sth ID, by some application
2. process it to this multithread enviroment of some sort of application,
3. this application should take another conected to this ID case from
databes infoes
4. making some sort of math over these values at the application
5. these math is needing some logical matrix which is also stored in
6. put these ID (cases) in some order back to the database,

All this should work over ~4 mln of cases, and should have a nice option to
takes all math not only during night processing, but ad-hoc when I pass ID
of any case during work (ad-hoc).
So what I try to do is application, which could do multithread (to optimize
math&logic) processing over this cases, I thought about systemn service
application - but what if I need distributed processing ?

All of course in C#, and I'm seending mail at this group only becouse all of
you are here !
If any of M$ patterns cover this, kick me right there please ;-)

best regards
