I miss my math class how much is -3.4e38?

Hi there,

Can anyone explain me in a simple concept what does -3.4e38 mean?

Scientific Notation
I "think" it means move the decimal point 38 places to the right so the
number is actually
-3400000000000000000000000000000000000000.00
If it was 3.4e-38 then it would mean move the decimal point 38 places left.
Hope this is right
