mono setup: why so much for Linux ???


How come to set up mono on Suse it takes over 10 separate downloads and
installs -- but the win32 installation is a single exe file ?

C'mon, Linux -- you have to catch up !!!

That it does -- although all operating systems/packages will proceed
at a certain rate; there's not a lot one can do about it except
contribute.

As it is, Gentoo has

'emerge mono'

and I now have MCS (the C# compiler). I'm not that knowledgeable
about the ins and outs of Mono so can't say much more. I'll
have to find a Webtorial (dibs on this word! :-) ) on how to set
up a Petstore or "Hello World!" type application.

From source, of course.
