Richard Grier (the author of the Visual Basic programmers guide to
serial communications) has a ActieX component for serial
communications on his web site that you can use. It is basically the
MSComm ActiveX control wrapped up in a custom ActiveX control to get
around the Microsoft licensing scheme.
If you have VB6, you should already have a license for the MSComm
control on your system so you should be able to use it directly
without having to use Richard Grier's wrapped up version.
