In Windows XP Professional, if I go to Windows/System32 and view the
Properties of pdqcom32.ocx, the version is listed as 3.21, which corresponds
to the manufacturer's patch level.
I copy this file to my dev/lib/com/pdqcom32 directory and run "aximp.exe
/source pdqcom32.ocx" from the command line. This creates five files in the
same directory. They are AxPdqcommLib.cs, AxPdqcommLib.dll,
AxPdqcommLib.pdb, PdqcommLib.dll, and StdType.dll.
Now I start a new Visual Studio .NET 2003 blank C# project. I add a Windows
Form to the project. Now, at this point, when I go to add the PDQComm
control to the General section of the Toolbox, the Crescent PDQComm Control
listed under the COM tab of the Add/Remove dialog is reported as being
version 3.1, which corresponds to the pre-patch version.
Note: I can successfully add the control to the toolbox and drop it on the
form, but I do get some errors when setting some properties. So, I want to
make sure I am using the correct version (3.21) of the pdqcom32 control.
Is that crystal clear in everyone's mind now? I think I'm even more
confused having read what I just typed...
Any help, suggestions, advice, or links would be greatly appreciated
