Current Row in DataView and other List object

I don't understand to end. How controls know which index of collections
rows is selected (correct )?
I noticed this situation in my property of IList ( this[int index] ). I
don't know how a control know which index is actual and get
child object with this index. I change current row in a grid to other
then a grid know which row is changed by himself but I noticed that
other controls (TextBox, Calendar etc) know that current row is changed
and get child object from my IList with correct index.
I know that because I debugged all controls and all databinding
(inhertied and writing by me) for that controls.

Thank's for all
