what does this syntax mean

hi i have nt come acroos this syntax in OOP .
can you plz explain what this means?

public FormsView(DataInstance dataInstance): base(dataInstance)

this is a constructor.

the :base(dataInstance) is calling the base component's constructor with the
dataInstance param.

its kinda a cross between C++ using the : after the constructor protoype
but before the { and Java's super.
